You may already have realized the the really large number of people who use cell phones, either as a secondary service or as their only service.  The increase in cell phone use has grown so great that nine in ten (89%) of adults have a wireless or cell phone (wow, that's an amazing statistic).  Whether they are business sales people, students, moms or families, almost everyone carries one.  In some cases the cell phone may even be the primary phone connection with some households having cut their landline connections totally off.  Take a look at these statistics from last year (2008):

• Almost eight in ten (79%) adults say that they have a landline phone.  This statistic is down slightly from 81 percent in 2006.

• About one is six (15%) of adults use the Internet or VoIP of Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol, to make telephone calls.

• Three-quarters (75%) of U.S. adults are using multiple approaches to making telephone calls.

• Those who use a cell phone as their only telephone service tend to be younger than the general population – in fact, about half (49%); (that's right one half use cell phone service -wow) are between the ages of 18 and 29.  These same individuals are likely to also use computer based VoIP services.

These statistics were part of a Harris Poll Survey done in April of 2008 and definitely show how we have become a mobile community.  Today every one wants a handheld device that receives calls, gets email and can run applications.  So why not join the rush and sell wireless cell phone service.  The market is huge and it is a product that gives you reoccurring income.
